We are so grateful to have been featured in a Minted Street article on May 17th!

The article entailed an interview that our head designer and CEO had with the publication about CTBT Studio’s sustainability efforts, the inspiration of the brand, the biggest challenges in the fashion industry, and future projects we are planning.

We shared with them our sustainability effort in creating our jeans. Almost every popular type of jeans today goes through several chemical-intensive washes that include cadmium, chromium, mercury, lead, copper, manganese, and more which are associated with brain damage; these chemicals also make the water unusable after the process. To suggest a more sustainable approach to making distinctive denim, we are now utilizing a laser printing technique that minimizes water pollution. We are always making the effort to bring more designs through this technique to have more variety.

We also shared with them the harms of mass production in the fashion industry. The waste behind the industry is tremendous, with more than 92 million tons of textile waste generated annually. This is why CTBT Studio is producing only a minimum quantity of products on the first drop, increasing the quantities based on consumer reaction, and also taking a made-to-order approach to some products. We then reflected and talked about our brand and our eco-friendly and cruelty-free efforts. Our clothes are composed of 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton and deadstock fabric and made at BSCI-certified factories where the workers are treated fairly.
